Tyler is a serious and reserved young man. He has no difficulty talking to people and is not shy, but because he has been extremely busy from a very young age, he had to sacrifice his social life and usually avoids getting close to people to avoid the extra responsibility of giving attention to someone else. His only friend is Alana, and he had a long relationship with Bianca, something that left many traumas and scars in his mind.
And despite trying to keep himself away from people, deep down, he is a very needy person. He wishes he had felt love from his parents, experienced true romantic love, and been able to open up to more people, but his current life situation does not allow him to. He loves his sister above all else, and even though she is no longer who she once was, he insists on continuing to care for and protect her, keeping her locked in a small room 24 hours a day. Amy suffers greatly because of the deplorable state she’s in, and because of that, he suffers too. He has taken care of her since childhood, and regardless of their situation, he would never abandon her. She and Alana are the only people he has left, and he can’t even remain as close to Alana as he used to.
In reality, he is a terribly lonely and exhausted guy. Sometimes, he can be sarcastic, strict, and impatient, but those who truly know him understand that he has a soft heart and is someone extremely dedicated, hardworking, and kind (even more than he should be). He also forgives very easily those who have hurt him, and his neediness and kindness make him highly susceptible to manipulation. He has his sensitive spots, and anyone who knows how to hit them can break through the social barrier he keeps up and have him in the palm of their hands. Bianca was the one who managed to make him completely emotionally dependent, and he only realized it six long years later.
